HY40 – Tassin-la-Demi-Lune

Large glass expanses coupled with the elegance of aluminum: a combination that illuminates this house.

On the heights of Lyon, in a park in the village of Tassin la Demi-Lune, marked by a heritage character of the surrounding buildings and trees, stands a contemporary villa designed as a garden pavilion, suspended, peaceful and bright.

Attentive to the enhancement and preservation of the surrounding environment, the house is built with a metal frame system that consists of the assembly of a horizontal volume in the shape of an «L» located on the edge of the land and organized around a central space, where all the building benefits from abundant light.

The entire house has a direct relationship with the surrounding nature. Protected at the edge of the property by a long metallic veil that undulates and forms a clear delimitation with the neighborhood, it is entirely open to the south and west in the vegetable landscape, thanks to a long steel structure that frees the facade from posts. This thin shell offers protection of the panoramic windows against the sun and extends the interior space into an exterior passage located slightly above the natural ground that serves the garden and leads to the existing pool.

Inside, the fine and bright space allows living along the facade and gives the rooms the character of a balcony. The secondary parts are at the rear of the building, while the kitchen, living room and master bedroom are located at the front to enjoy a wide view of the surrounding environment.
